Investing in Ukrainian cities is crucial for a stressful economy. They are needed to restore public confidence and create a momentum of growth to achieve long-term goals of sustainable development in an era of military shocks and post-war challenges.

The 7 Traits of Prosperous Cities

ProsperousCities is a multilateral program aimed at strengthening the viability and economic sustainability of Ukrainian cities and their communities. Below are the characteristics that reflect the key ideas that we are implementing specifically to stimulate the intensity of urban renewal and development. Today, we have a responsibility to demonstrate real-life examples that show that progress is possible, especially when people are pragmatic and working together:

1. Lead and Collaborate

Developing cities use cooperation as a key tool for development. They contribute to strong partnerships with business and communities.

When it comes to creating communities where everyone benefits from economic growth, planning decides everything.

3. Tackle a Big Problem by Starting Small

Today, our cities face extraordinary challenges. Sometimes the best way to deal with them is to start small.

4. Invest in Data

A solution that is not based on calculations is just an assumption. We analyze figures and indicators, and based on them we identify key areas on which to focus to achieve the greatest effect.

5. Activate Community Support

Involved and active communities are the lifeblood of any prosperous city. That's why city leaders involve local communities in key decisions.

6. Engage anchors and create conditions for expanding the number of tax resident

Developing cities make the most of their potential by using the power of their institutions to improve business conditions, develop infrastructure and ensure local accountability to the community.

Use analytical data, research findings and attract a variety of funding tools to implement and demonstrate successful cases and implement world best practices.
